The Listening Center, 2012

wooden box filled with found objects and a starling skeleton

I am an art teacher and have been enjoying your site. I thought I might just get out of my box and show a little of my art. The idea that we learn from previous generations has a few holes in it. This artwork is about generations of women, each building on the previous generation's luxuries. I like the idea of interactive art because children have a hard time with look and don't touch. "The Listening Center" can be opened with another door inside. There are hidden messages for my daughter inside.
